Grants Pass, OR — Susan Fischer Maki has officially announced her campaign for Oregon House District 3. A familiar face in Josephine County, Susan has earned the trust of local residents through years of public service, community involvement, and a steady commitment to doing the work that makes a difference.
“I believe good government begins with representatives who listen, learn, and show up prepared,” said Fischer Maki. “Our community deserves a representative who takes the job seriously, who asks the right questions, and who works every day to deliver real results for the people of this district.”
Fischer Maki’s roots in southern Oregon run deep. She grew up in Jackson County and built her professional career serving the Grants Pass community, where she worked as an Associate Planner for the City of Grants Pass. In that role, she helped manage complex housing and planning projects, supported advisory committees, and represented the city in community meetings. Her service also includes time as Vice Chair of the Urban Tree Advisory Committee and as a founding member of the Collaborative Economic Development Committee.
Susan’s campaign will center on three local priorities: creating good jobs, improving public safety, and investing in infrastructure. She is committed to working with local leaders to expand opportunity, support law enforcement, and ensure funding for critical projects that strengthen the foundation of the community.
“Our economy and our quality of life depend on getting these fundamentals right,” Fischer Maki said. “We need strong partnerships between local and state leaders to support the future of Grants Pass, Cave Junction, and Williams. That means advocating for resources, supporting small businesses, and investing in the infrastructure that helps our region grow.”
Fischer Maki’s campaign launch marks the beginning of a grassroots effort that will focus on listening to residents, engaging new voices, and building a movement for collaborative leadership.
“When we stand together and work together, we can make real progress,” said Fischer Maki. “This campaign is about building a better future for our kids and grandkids. I am ready to bring a thoughtful and steady voice for Josephine County to Salem.”
